Sophie and Madigan's Playground, Inc. Waiver and Terms and Conditions for Participation in the 2025 runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend
REGISTRATION FEE: For participants selecting race type "runDisney Springtime Surprise 5K", "runDisney Springtime Surprise 10K", "runDisney Springtime Surprise 10-Miler" or "runDisney Springtime Surprise Challenge" a non-refundable registration fee will be collected when you register online at www.sophieandmadigansplayground.org. This registration fee does not count towards you fundraising total.
REGISTRATION: Sophie and Madigan's Playground, Inc. ("SAMP") will be provide each of our charity team participants a unique link per runner that they will use to enter and submit their registration information for the 2025 runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend to runDisney.
Participants selecting race type "N/A" acknowledge that you obtained a 2025 runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend race entry on your own, or do not require race registration, and SAMP is not responsible for providing your official race entry.
FUNDRAISING: As a SAMP team member participating in the 2025 runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend, you commit to the following minimum fundraising level based on the race type you selected during registration.
runDisney Springtime Surprise 5K - $600 fundraising commitment
runDisney Springtime Surprise 10K - $700 fundraising commitment
runDisney Springtime Surprise 10-Miler - $800 fundraising commitment
runDisney Springtime Surprise Challenge - $1,100 fundraising commitment
In order to secure your position on the team and race registration, you must meet the following fundraising schedule. If you are unable to meet any of these fundraising requirements, you agree that any shortfall will be paid by you via credit card or check or you forfeit your registration for the race and all donations and registration fees received are non-refundable.
By Octopber 1, 2024: 10% or more of your fundraising commitment
By January 1, 2025: 50% or more of your fundraising commitment
By March 1, 2025: 75% or more of your fundraising commitment
By April 7, 2025: 100% or more of your fundraising commitment
It is strongly encouraged, though not required, that all SAMP team members use our online fundraising portal to create a personal fundraising page on www.sophieandmadigansplayground.org. While you are not obligated to fundraise online, should you elect to do so, this is the only website on which you may create a page for purposes of raising funds for SAMP as a Running for Sophie and Madigan team member. SAMP team members may also create Facebook fundraisers provided they are linked to the official Sophie and Madigan’s Playground Facebook page
It is the runner's responsibility to collect and send offline gifts (checks and cash) to Sophie and Madigan's Playground, Attn: Running for Sophie and Madigan, P.O. Box 1628, Frederick, MD 21702. All offline gifts must be in our office no later than April 22, 2025 in order to count toward your final fundraising minimum and eligibility for any fundraising incentives. A $20 fee may be charged for all returned (insufficient funds) checks from your contributors.
All corporate matching funds (or documentation guaranteeing those funds) from your company and/or your contributors' companies must be in our office no later than April 22, 2025. We will accept a written letter from matching companies stating the exact amount that will be distributed and the date it will be sent.
Runners may host a fundraiser event on behalf of SAMP. You must send a complete written proposal to SAMP for approval and signature. Please send any fundraising event proposals to fundraising@sophieandmadigansplayground.org. We reserve the right to deny submission if it is not in accordance SAMP standards and guidelines.
Runners that desire to use SAMP's logo and/or images from SAMP's website during their fundraising efforts must send a complete written proposal to SAMP for approval and signature prior to any such use. We reserve the right to deny submission if it is not in accordance SAMP standards and guidelines.
CANCELLATION POLICY: If for any reason, including injury, you are unable to compete in the 2025 runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend events, your race entry fee is non-refundable and donations raised and received by our office will not be refunded. You also understand that your registration in said event is non-transferable.
RACE CANCELLATION POLICY. If any one or more of the Races is not held for any reason, Disney will have no liability or other obligation whatsoever to Organization or any other person. Organization will adequately disclose the provisions of this paragraph to all prospective Race participants before they book any Race Registrations with Organization.
RACE WEEKEND CANCELLATION POLICY. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this Agreement, if a Race Weekend is canceled for any reason whatsoever, Disney will give Organization written notice of cancellation and, expect as provided in the following sentence, Disney will cancel all applicable Race Registrations, and Disney will have no further liability or other obligation whatsoever to Organization or any person for whom reservations have been made hereunder. Organization will adequately disclose the provisions of this paragraph to all prospective Race participants before they book any Race Registrations or other items with Organization.
MEDIA RELEASE. You hereby grant permission for use of any and all information submitted in your application, and/or your name, photograph, videotape, motion picture recording, voice or likeness for any purpose, including pre-race and post-race publicity.
PEOPLE UNDER THE AGE OF 18 YEARS. If you are under 18 years of age at the time of registration, your parents or legal guardians have fully read, understand, and consent to the terms of this Waiver and Terms and Conditions, and authorize your participation.
RELEASE OF LIABILITY. In consideration of your acceptance of this entry, you hereby for yourself, your heirs, executors and administrators, waive and release any and all right and claims for damages you may have against SAMP and sponsors for any and all injuries suffered by yourself in said event. You further declare that you are medically able, properly trained, physically fit and capable of participating in a marathon, half marathon, 10-Miler, 10K, or any combination of race events, and that your medical care provider has approved your participation.
You are aware that by agreeing to this Waiver and Terms and Conditions, you are waiving substantial legal rights, and knowing this, you agree of your own free will and intend your check of the "Waiver Agreement" box to be a complete and unconditional release of liability to the greatest extent allowed by law.
