Help Me Reach My Fundraising Goal
Hi everyone,

2022 marks the 21st year since I participated in my first RunDisney race. With the ongoing COVID 19 pandemic, I felt it was important to make a difference with this year's Glass Slipper Challenge, and have chosen to raise funds for Sophie and Madigan's Playground.

On February 26th and 27th, 2020, I will be run-walking first a 10K and then a half marathon a total of 19.3 miles over two days. This is a special year for me as the half marathon will actually take place on my 60th birthday.

Sophie and Madigan's playground, is a non profit started by two parents after they lost their two young daughters, Sophie, age 6½ and Madigan, age 3, in a house fire in 2013. As the grandmother of six granddaughters aged 3 months to 8 years old, I can't even fathom the loss that Sophie and Madigan's parents experienced. It is heartbreaking. Yet, Sophie and Madigan live on through the memorial playground that has been built in their memory, and through the Compassionate Kids Club focused on teaching children the positive difference acts of kindness make, by creating programs to help families that have either experienced or are facing the loss of a loved one.

I hope that you will help me celebrate my 60th birthday by supporting Sophie and Madigan;'s playground so that they can continue their good work, helping to provide opportunities for children and their families to play, learn and create lifelong memories together. With the COVID 19 pandemic still ongoing, creating opportunities for families to connect and bond is so important.

I have attached a link to my fundraising page below. If you donate $25 or more, I will send you a dozen homemade chocolate chip cookies. If you donate $50 or more, I will add a jar of homemade jam, made with berries picked by me (and my granddaughters).

The mission of Sophie and Madigan's Playground is to honor the lives of Sophie and Madigan Lillard by building a memorial playground and providing opportunities for children and their families to play, learn, and create lifelong memories together, and in ways that reflect the beautiful personalities and spirits of these two sisters.
